We have stayed at the Fairmont in Victoria and had an amazing time which prompted us to book the Fairmont in Toronto. We arrived at 4pm to check in and our room wasn't ready. We were told we get a text and we could have $70 to spend at the restaurant. I figured it would be 20-30min. We sat down to eat and 90 min later still no text. When I told the waiter the food was covered, he said there was no indication of this in the system and told me to go back to the front desk to verify. I had to go back to the front desk and they told me to tell the waiter "desk management had approved it." Once returning and sharing this with the waiter he had to go to the front desk to verify himself. It was super awkward and uncomfortable and I felt bad for the waiter as he had no idea what was going on. I have two young kids and they were getting restless. After eating we still had no text so I went back to the front desk and asked if I could just get an ETA on when the room would be ready. The man at the front desk had to go back to his manager to ask to get us a room. It was not a very positive first impression. We also received a wake up call the next day at 7am that we didn't ask for. Lastly the water in the faucet and shower would sometimes run brown. It was very disappointing experience overall.
I booked a hotel stay last December and actually prepaid the room. I had asked for a room with extension 174. I had actually called the hotel an week before my stay to again ask for a specific room type. What I received was a room with no place to unpack my clothes a small TV and a portable minibar that has seen better days. I complained immediately and was I changed rooms the next day to 12-174. I just didn't like the fact that my requests were ignore and I had to pack everything up and move the next day Very inconvenient.
Staff were very friendly. Room was small but very nice (only issue with room was the ac didn't work and it get very hot in the room over night) Great walking distance to everything!
We came to our room and there were hair in the sink and in the bed… and an ant was also on the bed. We were transfered to another room which was a small downgrade over the previous one. The bew room weas missing the water bottles. We were promised a $50 credit and a bottle of wine. We got the credit but no wine.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with our dog. We called and made sure it was pet friendly before. The staff were very rude about us having a dog. People came up to us in the lobby and said we couldn’t be there with a dog. We were not able to enjoy the hotel as we felt confined to our room. We also decided to stay another night. I found a rate online and showed them the part on the website where it says they will match and add 10% discount and told us they can’t do that. I was very disappointed in the customer service. This was our go to hotel in Toronto.

5 star service, with beautifully appointed rooms and facilities. It has that classical charm, and I love staying here.
We had a great stay with your hotel. It was a shock to realize, given the price you charge, that WIFI was another expense. This has always been included in any other hotels we have stayed in in Toronto. Would also have liked to have our room cleaned and restocked for our second night. I would have thought that you would get complimentary water and coffee for all nights of stay. Other than that it was a beautiful hotel to stay in.
