In general, it was an ok stay. I think the fact that we booked a nice suite, in addition to 3 additional rooms, and we are ALL Members set my expectations a little higher in terms of service and it felt like the hotel fell short in that arena. For instance, there was no welcome gift or acknowledgement in the suite, and there were no benefits at all of being ALL Members. We had to ask multiple times for things we requested, the phone hold times to get someone on the line was excessive and even though turn down and evening room refresh service should be standard at a hotel like The Fairmont, we had to request it and the night when we really needed it, they never came at all. We brought friends and family members back to our suite after an important celebration and instead of finding a nice, clean suite with the Champagne chilling - it looked exactly as it did 6 hours earlier when we made the request. Little things like this count and that is why we choose to book at The Fairmont - in the past these were all givens, not things you had to request.
This was a “staycation”. I booked a room with a view of my house! It was interesting going back and forth between the 2 places.

Checked in on Friday night to an upgraded room on the 20th floor but we weren’t able to enter the room for at least an hour because the fire alarm lights had been flashing and the engineers were called up to work on them. After an hour we had gone back to the room to unpack but the fire alarm lights were still flashing. In any event we finally get into the room and it was like a refrigerator. Apparently it the heat that had not been turned on for how long so we had called down for bathrobes and slept in them. I have been staying the Tower since 1975 and always loved the accommodations but this well it was different. The staff in the restaurant and all others were fine.
Great time with all of the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed meeting everyone and got plenty of help from service staff that left us with smiles and relief. The beds were comfortable and the views were immaculate. Only complaint is there was a sock left under a chair in our room, probably by previous guest. It didn't negatively impact our stay too much; we were more-so confused how it might have hidden from cleaning staff and for how long. The finishes in the hotel reminded us of old Hollywood and we loved the vibe. Enjoyed our time in the Tonga Room very much. The band played great music and the cocktails were equal parts strong and delicious. A quick shoutout for Ted who works security at the Tonga Room: he really made us feel safe and appreciated as guests. As two women traveling alone, we felt it would be safe to stay at the hotel to enjoy the night amenities since we weren't familiar with the city. We noticed a much older man was "on the prowl" so to speak, and he would attempt to get in the personal space of every group of young women we saw. It happened twice in front of us and then to us. We noticed how uncomfortable it made all the women, not to mention us. We told Ted and he helped make sure the man left so that we could all safely enjoy ourselves while the band played. A big thanks to Ted for paying attention to the needs of everyone. He is incredibly nice and an outstanding staff member. Additionally, great room service dining options and food was delectable. It was my friend's birthday and first time to San Francisco. Thank you for a very memorable trip.

Very nice place to spend a weekend in San Francisco.
First class hotel service outstanding
It has always been a dream to stay at the Fairmont. So, for our 18th anniversary, my wife and I were finally able to stay. Even though we had points at another chain we could’ve used, we chose to stay at the Fairmont. We also put in the request section that it was our 18th anniversary and we were first time guests, just so the hotel staff knew. And normally the hotel staff at other hotels acknowledge that and say something as simple as “Happy Anniversary.” Nope, no acknowledgement. And our bed in the exterior room we paid for looked at a wall every morning we woke up. Hardly romantic. So, maybe they recognize other people. Maybe they recognize celebrities. But they don’t make the regular folk on anniversaries who visit for their first time feel welcome. I have much better service at the Hyatt. And I’ll definitely look into other hotels the next time we’re in San Francisco.
The room was large and filled with all that was needed. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The staff always smiling and prompt to help.
