The site is somewhat dated, but still very well cared for and looked after. The staff are incrediably attentive and helpful. The hotel is in the Nob Hill area of San Francisco and super well located for the cable car and China Town. The only downside is that there is no pool at the hotel.

Magnificent hotel with so much history but felt like things weren’t firing on all cylinders. The amazing historic bar space isn’t open which is a shame given its past grandeur. Additionally, there was no space to sit for a drink in the main dining room bar. The only place to get a coffee at 6:30 AM was a $30 pot from room service…..6:30 AM is not terribly early. While the hotel is amazing it felt like everything else was only half open which detracted meaningfully from the experience I normally expect at a flagship Fairmont property.
We stayed just one night on our way back from the Redwoods before we flew home. We were a family of four with two younger kids and were put in a large corner room with beautiful city views. The staff was all so kind and helpful. We had a great time at the Tonga Room and were given a great table next to the lagoon. They ask if you are a hotel guest when seated and I think guests get preferred seating. I would definitely stay at the Fairmont on our next trip to San Francisco.

Hotel was great. Room was too hot as ac didn’t work well. Was no ice bucket in the room had to call both days I was there to get one. No robe in the closet I was charged for 2 bottles of wine that I didn’t drink. Had to call three times and leave voicemails before I got a call back about it then took an additional couple days to get the refund on my card. Was well enough stay but not what I expected overall. I felt forgotten about and felt mostly self service to me.

Was there for a work conference. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. Accommodations were spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast options and taste of food were very good at the restaurant.
The room was great. Staff were excellent and helpful. The meeting rooms and signage was good. We overwhelmed the elevators so there was a lot time spent taking stairs, but that was not to be helped and it did get me some exercise.

Once checked in we were in our room and attempted to close the electric blinds which would not work. Then attempted to call for maintenance and the phones were not connected. I hooked the phones up and called maintenance. We finally got the blinds to work. Then we had a dinner reservation and looked for a robe and slippers to shower and get ready and there were none. Another call. Also noticed skid marks in the toilet from previous occupants. Have stayed at the Fairmont many times and can’t remember ever being as disappointed. Seems like maybe they are very under staffed.
$9.00 for a cup of coffee is a little ridiculous! Just simply ripping off the guests should be something to consider. The world is hard enough today and something as simple as coffee and water, that in most hotels is complimentary especially considering how much our company spent to stay there
