It’s hard not to be impressed by the original Fairmont. Exceptional from the moment you enter—with something historic or memorable at every corner. Without a doubt the finest hotel in SF, if not the hotel with the most impressive views of the Bay. Recommend this property without question.

The staff of the Fairmont SF, from housekeeping to concierge, were superb making the entire experience satisfying and flawless! All areas of the hotel were beautiful, particularly the Laurel Court and lobby. The rooms were kept impeccably and the new professional management of the fitness facility (with only a modest user fee) was appreciated. ***The Only Downside*** of my experience was not being able to view any of Tony Bennett's artwork. I understand it is displayed in an exclusive suite which unfortunately limits the enjoyment to only a select few...I would guess a miniscule portion of your guest population. I last stayed at the Fairmont SF during my American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting in 2019. At that time there was a nice display of Mr Bennet's works in the hallway behind the Laurel Court Bar. It would be awesome if you could again create a similar exhibit highlighting his life in Jazz and his Art.
We love the Fairmont and won’t stay anywhere else when we visit SF. The gentleman at check in was very friendly (we’ve checked in with him before), almost all the employees were great as always. The room was clean and wonderful as always. Only bad thing was the gentleman that basically yelled at us Tuesday evening. We went across the street to Top of the Mark for a drink and then came back to the Fairmont and we’re walking towards the bar to see if we could get a drink and the person in Laurel Court yelled at us like we were 10 years old to get out because they were closed (we clearly didn’t realize they were and had only walked like 10 feet into the room). Not the Fairmont norm and we haven’t previously experienced that in our 20 or so stays there so we still love the hotel and I’ll be back in January and told the others joining us to stay there as well.

I stayed at the Fairmont San Francisco the weekend after the APEC summit. The whole city was a bit chaotic due to blocked streets including the hotel's main entrance. We went in through the garage in the back of the building. However, once I checked in, I was upgraded to a nicer room with a wonderful view of the city in one of the top floors. Room was very spacious and comfortable. The only inconvenience was that I couldn't open my room door because the door lock ran out of battery. The hotel staff tried to fix it as soon as possible, but that night I had dinner reservations and I barely had time to change and go. Other than that, my stay was very enjoyable. As always, the service was great, the hotel is beautiful and I wished I could have stay more days. I tried the Tonga room Saturday night and it was a blast! I recommend it for a fun time.

Great location, but the building is old and worn. Shower door could not close properly because of poor construction.
This hotel is magical time… If you’d like to send me an email, I’ll show you a picture of the desk chair. The cheap made in China chair probably costs less than your per 1 night fee. It would be incredible if you bring back the hotel to its original glamour. The coffee shop has the most beautiful frescoes of animals that coffee shop could be busy every day if you found an outside coffee provider to open their shop inside and fairmont spend some money to design it. The dining room could also be busy if you upgraded the interior. Your front desk people seem to be overworked. There was only two people available when I checked in. I saw a manager walk straight by even though there was a line up. I’m a regular at the Fairmont Royal York, gold floor. It’s my favorite hotel in the city in Toronto. I frequent it often. It’s a shame this gem is not kept up!
The Fairmont San Fran is in a perfect location. Walking distance or a short Uber to everything you need. Its a classic Fairmont, very nice clean and friendly. I would stay there again.

I like true hotel. The rooms are modern. Beds good. Glad lobby restaurant / bar open. Only issue is that when you have big groups you should keep that tiki place open until 11:30
