We really appreciated the young woman who checked us in . She made sure we had a very quiet room and she was professional, pleasant and had a beautiful smile. We would have stayed one day more, but upon being informed of some alarm testing that was going to be happening during the day we decided to check out.

I experienced unfortunate changes and decline in quality: shower was clogged & had to be fixed, there was no hot water the first night, I had to call housekeeping both nights to get the room cleaned, the second day was after 4:30pm. The recycled water bottles are no longer provided in room, no longer mouthwash provided, and the hair dryer was very old and did not work. All of these add up to a new message I received about the change in overall quality. I understand the water change being sold as sustainability efforts but along with all of the other problems it just appears to be a cost cutting measure. The price of the hotel room would support higher quality than what is now provided. There are many solutions to improve all of the above. The staff is always lovely.
I stayed with you from Friday the 20th - Tuesday the 24th this month. Great room, location and food. The staff was excellent, from housekeeping, room service and spa employees. I was incredibly disappointed in three experiences. First, When I arrived in my room the thermostat was set at 70 but the room was well below 65 degrees. I do not feel comfortable having someone entering my room at a late hour when I have already prepared for bed so I had to sleep with two long sleeve layers on and towels over the comfortable. Even with this, I slept less than four hours. When I woke up the temperature was below 60 degrees. I was able to dress and call someone to fix at that time. It was taken care of until the next afternoon when I returned and the thermostat was off and back in low 60s. On my last night I assume it was repaired to be only heat so I had to keep my patio door open for 45 minutes before getting in bed to cool off the room from 75. My second frustration was that unfortunately your fire alarms were tested extensively during my stay...while I was in the middle of a massage. It was incredibly hard to relax with them going off randomly for what seemed like an hour. Third frustration was that I was interested in purchasing a pair of earrings. I inquired at the front desk the morning of my last day with no response. I followed up with John, the concierge, around 8pm that night (needed to leave hotel by 10am the following morning). I walked to the pier once John told me he would reach out to the jewelry owner. He returned my call at8:30 stating he would be there for 15 more minutes if I was still interested...so I had to run a mile from the tip of the Santa Monica pier at an 8 minute mile (runner with watch that tracks) in jeans and a nice top to have a chance of buying the earrings. Again, overall, great room, dining, staff and spa. For a hotel of the caliber of a Fairmont Hotel, I was quite frustrated about issues that have never been issues for me at lower caliber establishments.

We stayed for an event in the Bungalows, which was excellent, and working with various teams in the hotel helped make our contribution and enjoyment of the event thrive.
I was on the 8th floor with an ocean view, which was beautiful! However the party with the bagpipes was extremely loud, as was the disco on Friday night. Quite disappointed with the amount of noise.

Have looked so forward to staying with you! Unfortunately, there was an event at the hotel upon arrival so we had to enter from Ocean (not thru the pretty gates!) Staff very nice throughout the hotel, esp restaurant. Tried to order beverages at the pool, but phone marked to use did not work and had to go inside to the bar to get myself. Broken glass outside our bungalow door upon returning from dinner - called front desk and cleaned up right away. BUT - the biggest problem is the Bungalow Club next door - as early as 3pm in the afternoon, a patron was drunk and vomiting in the bushes on the corner of Wilshire and Ocean, loud music and yelling, people falling down - and after dinner a scary scene of 2 groups of people fighting and screaming at one another. Did not seem like a safe situation. I know the hotel cannot control, but would not opt to stay again - esp on a weekend.
