All good.
Have looked so forward to staying with you! Unfortunately, there was an event at the hotel upon arrival so we had to enter from Ocean (not thru the pretty gates!) Staff very nice throughout the hotel, esp restaurant. Tried to order beverages at the pool, but phone marked to use did not work and had to go inside to the bar to get myself. Broken glass outside our bungalow door upon returning from dinner - called front desk and cleaned up right away. BUT - the biggest problem is the Bungalow Club next door - as early as 3pm in the afternoon, a patron was drunk and vomiting in the bushes on the corner of Wilshire and Ocean, loud music and yelling, people falling down - and after dinner a scary scene of 2 groups of people fighting and screaming at one another. Did not seem like a safe situation. I know the hotel cannot control, but would not opt to stay again - esp on a weekend.
Service was great. Obviously the location can't be beat. But the ameneties feel like you're staying at your old aunt's house that used to have money but has stopped spending it on her space. The towels are stiff and rough. The furniture is worn-out, sagging couch cousins, can feel the coils, etc. TVs are small for today's standards. Bathrooms has an 90's looking crusty tub and shower. When compared to The Proper hotel down the street, the rooms and linens need a refresh BAD. I should note this was even in the suite.
Our stay was relaxing and wonderful. We felt like Hollywood royalty. Check-in experience was extremely easy and delightful. And the cocktails and hors d’oeuvres we had at the lobby bar were fantastic.

Love Antoine, Arianna, and the entire staff at Fairmont Santa Monica!
Got a room with a great view overlooking the koi pond and the ocean. Enjoyed walking to the beach. Nice restaurant with a great happy hour. I didn’t need my car because everything I needed was in the hotel or walking distance.

Room on first floor near elevator snd spa. There was no privacy but plenty of noise
I have stayed at this hotel on innumerable occasions over the last 10+ years but this was my first trip back for over 3 years due to Covid. I have stayed for both business and family reasons and for combinations of both. I have travelled very extensively over the past 25+ years, sometimes spending over 200 nights a year in hotels around the world. Generally 5 star hotels. What I've learned in all that time is that it is the staff that make a great hotel Location is important too but good staff and culture is the absolute prerequisite. If you have staff remaining at a hotel for a long time that is generally a great sign This preamble is to frame the fact that this hotel in my humble opinion one of the very best in then world. The staff in all areas of the hotel are polite, professional, knowledgeable, well trained and a delight to encounter. I was so happy to see many familiar faces and to have a chat with those folks, all of whom greeted me by name and remembered my past visits. You are not anonymous here. The hotel has a new manager but he has absolutely retained the culture and spirit of the place and deserves great credit for that. The Fairmont Miramar is not flashy (there are enough of that elsewhere) it is old school comfort. I used to stay a lot at the Four Seasons on Doheny and the Sunset Marquis in WeHo if my work was on that side of the 405 but now I don't even bother, I just suck the traffic up and stay ate the Fairmont Miramar. The rooms are not tour de forces of design but are rather just extraordinarily welcoming and cosseting with extremely comfortable beds and impeccable housekeeping and room service. I have stayed in all room categories here and all are great and have their specific charms. This time I stayed in a 2 bed bungalow as I was travelling with my eldest son. It was predictably excellent and I have no negative comments of any kind, even to be helpful and 'constructive'. I just want this hotel to stay as it is. The location is second to none, the house car is a great touch, the concierge here are top of their game (great that Ryan is back!), the doormen, bellmen and valet staff are the best in the business, the waiting staff in Fig are faultless.. sorry..I sound like an AI bot..but it's all true. I hope to be staying here for many many years to come for both work and family visits. I know the owner of this hotel and have made the point on a number of occasions to advise them how great it is. If you are coming to Santa Monica, look no further, stay here, you won't regret it.
I had stayed at the Fairmont several years ago and decided to try it for a one night stay in Santa Monica. I love the location of the Fairmont. However, it's the same experience I remember from my past stay. Arrived in an uber, staff took my bags out of the car and then directed me inside to the reception desk. I had 3 suitcases and a couple of smaller bags; nobody offered to help with luggage. I had a room in one of the towers. Room is spacious and clean. However, I really dislike that there is a bathtub/shower combo in the majority of the rooms at this hotel. The bathrooms are just not that nice (and even though the have Le Labo bath products, it was unfortunate that housekeeping failed to replenish any of the body soap). Neither the phone nor the ipad worked in the room. Had dinner at Fig which is great. Service and food were both good. I come to LA often to visit family and a daughter in college. There are several other hotels in Santa Monica/Bel-Air/Beverly Hills that I'd rather stay at.
