Rented a bungalow as parents of bride. Leak in bathroom ceiling over 1/2 for bell service to arrive and move us to 2nd bungalow which was sub par to the first
Our room was located right above the load outdoor bar, so we didn’t sleep well. At checkout, we were assured that we would not be charged resort fees, as compensation. I hope the desk clerk followed through with that promise. The refrigerator in our room did not work, but housekeeping was prompt in replacing it with a new one. The best part about staying there was when we saw Arnold Swartzeneggar. For the cost of staying at the Fairmont, I felt that a continental breakfast should have been included, with complimentary coffee. Our overall stay was okay, but we do not plan on returning to the Fairmont.
We had a team offsite in Santa Monica. Couldn't have asked for a better location for employee happiness. The hotel communications were excellent and they saved the day by helping last minute with conference/event room bookings when our existing plans fell through!

The Fairmont is a gorgeous hotel with stunning views located within walking distance of the pier which was a bonus. The staff was responsive and the breakfast we had in the attached restaurant was excellent. I would love to have given a '10' on satisfaction however when we arrived to our room, we noticed a dirty glass in our bathroom. We alerted the concierge however no one was ever sent to collect the dirty glass.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. Great location. Exceptional service.

I had stayed at this hotel during the Pandemic, which was, well, an interesting experience. Mainly because of the COVID-related restrictions, not the hotel. This time, it was a "normal", and great experience. While the property could probably use some upgrading -- I have found this true at other Fairmont's as well -- the overall "vibe" was just what I was looking for for my short stay in LA. From the friendly, attentive staff, to the well-appointed room, all was top notch. And, my room had an Ocean View, which is great if you, like me, were a former LA resident and now live in the Midwest. I strongly recommend the Fairmont Miramar. And, stay in a Bungalow, if you can. I know I will try next time I stay there. Although I am sure they are pretty expensive.

Extremely noisy cooling fans for HVAC just outside window. TV's were older than me. Paid for parking but I didn't bring a car.
We had to be moved from our ocean view room because of strikers protesting outside the property. We were moved to a suite, which apparently had not been redone since the 1950s and the furniture seem to have been obtained from Goodwill or habitat for humanity. The suite had a wonderful view of the top of what appeared to be a utility building. The shower did not operate properly with very poor water pressure.
I am 7 months pregnant so we came to the area for a wedding and baby moon. We were looking forward to a weekend of relaxation but this hotel allowed everything but. The first night there we were woken at 5:15AM to the protestors playing the trumpet and drums for an hour. From Thursday-Saturday the Bungalow played their DJ music well above the noise ordinance after 10pm. Thursday-Friday we could drown it out by turning the television up but it did not end until 1:30AM. On Saturday you could not drown out the music. With the television up you could still hear the music word for word. When we asked for the music to be lowered they said they would make a request but the Bungalow was open till 2am. It is a town law and should have been lowered immediately, not recommended. After the first night I had called the front desk to ask them about the noises from the street and they said it was this noisy in all rooms of the hotel. On Saturday night (our last night there) the front desk offered to relocate us to a new room but this was at 11:30pm and we were checking out at 7am. For the amount of money you pay to stay at this location it is not worth it. I wouldn’t pay half as much as I did had I knew I would not be able to sleep on my vacation, especially being 7 months pregnant!!
