The town hall was built in 1897 - an elegant magnificent building that has more rooms than Buckingham Palace and is considered one of the most beautiful city council buildings in the world, not only by Hamburgians. We recommend a guided tour of the town hall, as the interior is even more magnificent than the exterior façade, or at least take a stroll through the breathtaking inner courtyard between the town hall and Germany's oldest stock exchange.
