Fairmont's Whistler Experience Guides will be your hosts for mountain adventures, hiking, village tours and indoor activities that are 'off-the-tourist' track and capture the true essence of Whistler.

Guided excursions are included for all registered Fairmont Chateau Whistler hotel guests.

  • Activities vary day to day.
  • Typically 3 options per day are available.
  • Daily activities are planned 48 hours in advance.

Current outings and complete details are available in the Hotel Lobby, in the Health Club, in your Daily Hotel Newsletter and are always available for in-house guests by dialing '0' for Royal Service .

Pre-registration at the Concierge Desk is required for some activities and is available up to 48 hours in advance.

Guided Hikes for Fairmont Chateau Whistler Guests


From family-friendly Lost Lake strolls to tours of The Whistler Train Wreck, a variety of hikes will be offered throughout the summer season. 

Fitness levels range: Active - Moderate - Intermediate - All Levels

Destinations will include:

For the casual rider, cruise around the neighbourhood to Lost Lake or along the Valley Trail through local neighborhoods to scenic lookout points. Learn about our rooftop beehives on a garden tour.


BEE SUSTAINABLE! Our  rooftop is home to fourteen beehives and a one of a kind bee hotel, specifically designed to attract solitary pollinator bees. This initiative are is part of the Fairmont’s Planet 21 sustainability program, helping the local bees by providing an environment for them to pollinate local gardens and parks. These particular bees have produced a clear, delicate wildflower honey that our Chefs are using for culinary and cocktail creations.

Visit the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre in Whistler


Rain or shine, there is always plenty to explore in Whistler. Gain deeper understanding of the local community. Learn about the history of the hotel itself, or take a short walk over to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre to discover the rich culture of the region’s First Nations people. Uncover our unique history at the Whistler Museum, and experience the passion of the 2010 Games on an Olympic Venue tour.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler Experience Guide Dog


Alta is a black Labrador, and arguably the most popular team member of Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Her days are spent exploring scenic trails with our Whistler Experience Guides and adventure-seeking guests. During her down time Alta can be found roaming The Chateau, greeting guests and colleagues alike. Alta was trained by Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, and is proudly owned by Executive Chef Isabel Chung.

*Please note: Activities are subject to change and availability. Paddleboarding available in late June through early September. Some activities are weather dependent and may be subject to fees. For all water sports activities, guests must be comfortable in water and be able to swim.
