Sunshine Village is a vast bowl of deep snow with an average of 30 ft of powder from November to June – the longest ski season in Canada. Throughout Sunshine’s history, all development, including $11 million in recent resort improvements, has been carefully designed to harmonize with the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies and Banff National Park. Still standing is the original 1928 ski cabin known as Old Sunshine Lodge. The ski hill is open from mid-November to late May.

• 40 minutes scenic drive on TransCanada Highway Eastbound from Lake Louise.

Banff's Mount Norquay has been the local’s ski area since 1926, with 28 runs spread over 129 acres. Located just minutes from Downtown Banff, Mount Norquay offers the flexibility of allowing skiers and boarders to pay by the hour, and offers the only night-skiing in the Rockies (every Friday night). With 85% snow making capacity, this Lake Louise ski resort has some of the best grooming in the area, and is considered to be Banff’s best family ski resort.

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is the first four-season mountain resort to be built in the Canadian Rockies in the past 25 years. The varied terrain offers a winter playground for those new to alpine adventure and the perfect opportunity for adrenaline junkies to charge down a 4,000 ft ski out, the second longest in Canada. Opens mid-December to early April.
