Skating on beautiful Lake Louise
Come enjoy our winter wonderland on beautiful Lake Louise and discover why CNN and The Huffington Post (Fodors) claimed Lake Louise as World's Best Skating Rink in 2014.
The lake is cleared daily of the newest snowfall and for even more sparkle, each year our team creates an intricate Ice Castle from huge blocks of ice to highlight the world's most spectacular rink. There is an additional rink near the Nordic stop for all hockey enthusiasts. The massive Victoria Glacier and snowfrosted Rocky Mountains provide a backdrop worthy of Broadway for skating on Lake Louise. Skating is available from mid-December to mid-April, depending on conditions. The skating rink is lit daily for night skating.
Skate rentals are available at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Chateau Mountain Sports, located next to the front desk lobby.

SKATING UNDER THE STARS
If you're up for an evening glide on frozen Lake Louise, you will have the ice to yourself. Enjoy the fresh mountain air and admire the shadows of the surrounding mountains while dancing on the ice holding your loved one's hand. Don't forget to look up at the awe-inspiring night sky.
Lake Louise doesn't go to sleep after the sun sets. Cuddle up to your significant other and soak in the tranquil evening scene in front of a crackling campfire by the Guide's Cabin. This is the perfect setting to roast marshmallows, tell stories and admire the night sky.
A gas campfire located on the lakefront is also available. (Operates daily except during the Ice Magic Festival from January 19-29, 2017). Please note that the evening campfire options are available to guests only at no charge.
