Quick overnight stay on executive floor.
I had a great experience with my room and newly renovated spaces. Very classy upgrades. Had a few challenges with this stay though: 1. My business credit card wasn't working. The front desk clerk said all was well so I went to a meeting at the lounge where I was meeting someone. About 10 mins into this meeting the front desk clerk came and found me and instead of saying "Could you stop by the front desk before you go up to your room" or something like that, she said "Excuse me, your credit card is not working". This could have been better. 2. I left my 4Runner with the valet. About 10 mins after the front desk clerk came to find me, now the valet attendant came and found me in the lounge. Apparently another guest had left their 4Runner with valet, got out and didn't put it in park and her vehicle rolled into mine. I was told there was no damage but I decided to go outside and check. There was no damage that I could see because I have a hitch on the back but there certainly was damage to the other vehicle. I found it odd that there was the valet attendant and the hotel manager outside but the woman was not there. Curious if it really was her fault or if it was the hotel staff who were at fault. Because I didn't have any damage, I didn't ask to get the contact information for the other driver...but I'm wondering if she should have had mine as a witness. 3. When I was leaving the hotel, I had texted to have my vehicle brought around. I gave 30 mins notice and received a message back saying the vehicle would be around within 10 mins or so. When I went down at the 30 min mark, I had to find the valet and ask where my truck was. He then went and got the keys and went to get it. In total my colleague and I waited over 45 mins for the truck. As the fellow went to rip the valet tag off my keys, he broke my keychain. It was just another addition to an already not stellar stay overall.
Everything was 10/10 except that they were supposed to send up a cot for our 10 year old daughter to sleep on. The cot never arrived.
I got an upgrade without asking perhaps due to Reno’s amd repeat stays. It was lovely on the 8th floor!!

I was upgraded to the Queen Elizabeth room at the Hotel McDonald in Edmonton. An incredible experience made extra special by an outstanding service team at the hotel.
Superb staff, delightful, comfortable and spacious room, friendly and skilled staff and a fabulous lounge
There was a mechanical noise in my first room (not the ice machine) that prevented sleep and I ended up changing rooms in the middle of the night. The staff assisted immediately and found another room and what I need to move quickly. Quick and competent!

I book a room on the Gold Floor. My room was upgraded upon my arrival, what a nice surprise! The staff is always so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. You make a Hotel stay and great experience. Thank you!
My son and I stayed at the Hotel MacDonald for a weekend trip to Edmonton to attend a sporting event. The location was perfect, and I appreciated that there was heated, underground parking. We dined at both restaurants, ordered room service and used the pool and sauna. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Edmonton.
