Get Steeped Afternoon 'Hive' Tea
Join us in Herons West Coast Kitchen on November 3rd as The Fairmont Waterfront will be serving up a unique West Coast twist on a timeless tradition.
Served on a cedar plank, a concoction of honey delicacies replaces the traditional three tier tray of sandwiches and scones. Perfectly showcasing the hard work of The Fairmont Waterfront’s seasonal employees who reside on the third floor terrace, the Afternoon ‘Hive’ Tea is a sweet alternative which caters to taste buds of all ages. Indulge in your choice of locally sourced loose leaf teas and smouldering local artisanal cheeses, carefully paired with a mouthwatering honey infused accompaniment. Pastry Chef Stephanie Greenslade and her team serve up handmade signature Honey Almond Cakes, delectable Garden Thyme Lemon Lollipops, and Bannock Bread Scones with seasonal sweets prepared in-house.
For the young ones, we have put together a children-friendly version of our honey themed ‘hive’ tea. Snuggle up by the fire while Maggie de Vries, award winning Canadian Author, reads her latest educational children’s story book, Big City Bees; a vivid storybook that speaks to the wonders of bees. Written about our very own rooftop honeybee apiary, this fun story educates on how bees live, how nectar turns into honey, and why we need bees to make our garden grow.
An author signing will take place so each child can leave with their very own signed copy of Big City Bees.
