Please note that the City of Austin has issued a no-left turn onto Red River Street when heading East on East Cesar Chavez Street. To enter Fairmont Austin’s front entrance, please turn left on Trinity Street, which is one block before Red River Street. Please ensure that you follow this route detour to avoid the $500 fine as enforced by the City of Austin.

Check in took way too long - not sure why. We were denied a late check out - no big deal I understand but we came down to leave at 11 there were like 400 college kids standing around - their busses blocking the front so valet service was delayed for about 45 minutes until the kids cleared. We finally got out aound 12. Maybe it was our fault for asking for the late check out at 2:30 in the morning.
It was my first time in Austin. Fairmont called me to explore the city well by foot or using tour company’s provided transportation that was surprisingly located nearby. Glad to be assigned to a room high floor above to see the view from the bedroom window. The bed was great and able to sleep well after the long days of walk.
I want to acknowledge the desk clerk that checked me in. She was phenomenal and an outstanding representative of the Fairmont brand. Also, I was to complement ALL of the staff I encountered. So pleasant, courteous, well put together and efficient. I had an issue with my WiFi (my fault as it turned out) and I was a bit fussy and frustrated. I texted my troubles and got them immediately resolved…how refreshing. I travel a great deal for my business, and I stay in a range of properties - ultra luxury to mid-range. This property’s staff is among some of the best. What a pleasure, and I will definitely go out of my way to visit more Fairmonts in the future. If I return to Austin, rest assured, your hotel will be at the top of my selections.
Overall, we had a great experience. The hotel staff was very accommodating and well trained. While the bar was somewhat expensive, a good value was found in the hotel’s restaurants. The room was clean and refreshed daily. The hotel was fairly busy as it was a race weekend. Two situations were present that detracted from the experience. First, it appeared that not all of the elevators were running. It’s very unpleasant to be subjected to stopping on just about every floor and being crammed in with ten or more passengers at a time. Likewise, while smoking is not allowed in the hotel, guests were forced to navigate through the smoky haze whenever entering or departing the hotel as smokers were allowed to congregate just outside the hotel entrance. This truly detracted from the experience.

Stayed at the Fairmont during a 4 day visit to Austin for the MotoGP at COTA Beautiful hotel and big comfortable beds Hotel is spotless and ideally located One downside is charging an extortionate amount for WIFI in this day and age where it is free in most places.
I have been wanting to stay at The Fairmont for a long time. We decided to go ahead and book for our trip to Austin and I was very much looking forward to it. Check in was easy enough and they put us on the 37th floor. Once we got in the room, my husband decided to take a shower and he noticed the floor was wet in the bathroom and that the shower was leaking and it was clear this had been happening for a while. We called to get our room moved and advised there weren’t any more rooms available. After a few more calls, we were then told that they would look into it and we were in a hurry for dinner reservations. About 1.5 hours after initial call we were finally Moved to the 8th floor with a view of AC units. The room was comfortable overall. Also, the signage for the ice machine was confusing. Not sure if I would stay again.
Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful.
I felt very comfortable in my room. Very pleasant environment. I accidentally left items in my room after I checked out. They were in lost and found when I checked a short time later.
Honestly, the hotel was the highlight of our trip, it was so amazing. The room was beautiful, the service could not have been better, and the rooftop heated pool was my absolute favourite! The snacks and breakfast provided were so delicious, and from check in to check out the staff went above and beyond!
