Carton House is located in Maynooth and lies on the Western Suburban Railway Line which serves three City Centre stations (Pearse Station, Tara Street Station and Connolly Station) as well as eight other suburban stations (Drumcondra, Broombridge, Ashtown, Castleknock, Coolmine, Clonsilla, Leixlip Confey and Leixlip Louisa Bridge).

We absolutely loved our recent stay in Carton House. It is my favourite hotel in Ireland so I always try to stay there a few times a year, This time I brought my Dad for his birthday. The hotel and grounds are stunning and the staff are always so lovely too.

It was first class from start to finish
we enjoyed our stay, however, we feel that the overall service received was not of a five star standard. we have stayed in four star hotels where the service would be far superior.
Hotel was great and staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great stay. However Breakfast service on both mornings was not the best and the fridge in our room did not work.
Was visiting Faireyhouse races for the Easter festival.Ideally located 15 minute drive to course.Loverly helpfull staff. So relaxed in a wonderfull hotel with so a great and varied history. See you all in June. Stewart.P.S I did find my phone. Thanks all for a wonderfull time.

Enjoyed the beautiful luxurious Hotel, the surroundings/grounds/walks, hotel bedroom and spa etc. Our experience in the bar/lounge area was disappointing , falling well short of our expectations. We ordered two gin and tonics which took approximately 20 mins to execute - the staff member/s informed us of their lack of experience in bar work - couldn't find suitable gin glass, didn't understand the order, brought the wrong order which was returned, had to ask for ice etc etc. Very pleasant nice staff but their lack of training along with level of English was evident. The breakfast in Kathleen kitchen was a not what we expected. Just as we sat down and prior to reading the breakfast menu a very rushed member of staff put a pot of tea and coffee on our table saying she was sorry for the delay - we explained that we hadn't ordered yet and that it was for some other table - she was very confused. Our breakfast was ordered , tea was delivered, when after some time the cooked breakfast was delivered one of the orders was incorrect - serving French toast instead of pancakes which were returned taking again some time to have the order corrected. The tea was now cold and we asked for a fresh pot which arrived in a teapot with a chipped spout, we also had to asked for fresh cups which again took more than a reasonable amount of time to deliver. We asked for bread but our meal was finished when it arrived - no jams/marmalade or condiments were served. I couldn't eat the croissant as it was not cooked in the middle - when I brought it to the attention of person who took the order he said 'that's a first' and offered no explanation, replacement or apology . In all I estimate that at least six different people served our table at breakfast which meant that there was no continuity whatsoever. A need for training along with communication skills is paramount in any job but it was very evident on this occasion. It was a very disappointing experience.
