Originally the Kitchen Courtyard for Carton House; the best of local produce came into the service end of the Main House right here, before being prepared and served to some of Ireland’s finest gentry. A Bake House with large ovens and brewery for the estate also looked onto the Courtyard. The bustle of everyday life has echoed through these courtyard walls for centuries. Today like yesteryear, The Courtyard Bar remains a treasure trove of activity and atmosphere for its guests.
