    Take Central Expressway (Hwy 75) south

    Exit Ross Avenue, turn right on Ross

    Continue through four stoplights

    Turn right onto Akard, the hotel is on the left

    Take the Dallas Tollway South until it ends

    Follow the signs to Harry Hines/Downtown

    Follow the signs to Akard

    Cross over the Woodall Rogers Freeway

    The hotel is on the right.

    From Houston, South Dallas and Wilmer-Hutchins:

    Take I-45 North

    Exit Main and Elm Street

    Follow the signs to Elm Street, then go through downtown to Ervay (fourth light)

    Turn on Ervay and proceed to Ross Avenue

    Cross over Ross and the hotel is on the left

    From Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie and West Dallas:

    Take I-30 east, exit I-35E North

    Exit to 75/Sherman

    The first exit is Field/Griffin exit, merge onto Griffin

    Continue straight to the first light, which is Ross and turn left

    Go two blocks to Akard and turn left, hotel is on the left

Underwhelmed

No free wifi?!? Inexcusable! 3 towels for a double room, there should have been 4. Beds were comfortable, room was spacious. No dresser or fridge was disappointing. Pool was freezing!

Great staff - facilities need updating

The Fairmont is always a luxury experience. The staff is impeccable and lovely to engage with. This particular hotel is tired. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms are very dated. We were struck with the lack of cleanliness in our room after checking in. There was trash in the garbage can and the toilet had clearly been used. Staff was attentive and quick to respond to our needs. We were also frustrated that restaurants had buffets in place of meals. This was due to a "staff shortage" which seemed odd. We always look forward to dining in the Fairmont and regrettably could not on a few occasions.

Very Pleased

My friend and I came to town for the eclipse. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and had access to the Gold Lounge. Our room was very nice and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The service in the Gold Lounge was impeccable. It’s a lovely place to relax and the food was delicious. Riley (sp?),?Brandy, and Malik were very pleasant and helpful. I arrived several hours before check in and Riley was extremely helpful in getting me into a room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had one minor issue (which is why I didn’t rate the stay as a 10). Each day housekeeping skipped our room for some reason. This, however, was quickly rectified with a call to the front desk. If I’m in Dallas again, I will seek out the Fairmont

Good location, dated interiors

The hotel is very dated in terms of decor. The rooms need to be refreshed. The bathtub enamel was peeling significantly, the lights are extremely dim, the wall base paint is peeling. Also I ordered room service for dinner and my food arrived without any water (I hadn't ordered another drink). When I asked for water, the man who brought the dinner said he would be back with water in 5 minutes. He never came back.
