Mountain grandeur in Banff

As Canada’s oldest national park, Banff National Park protects glacial lakes, high alpine passes, and dense evergreen forests. Hiking trails, scenic drives, and wildlife corridors extend outward from the townsite.

Sulphur Mountain rises directly above Banff, accessible by trail or gondola. The Banff Upper Hot Springs, located along its slopes, trace their origins to the geothermal discovery that led to the park’s creation.

The Bow River flows beneath the hotel grounds, its turquoise current winding through the valley. Bow Falls, located just below the property, provides a constant reminder of the landscape’s movement and scale.

Jasper unfolds across wide valleys and glacier-carved corridors, where forest meets open sky and mountains rise without crowding the horizon. Compared to other Rockies destinations, the landscape feels broader, quieter, and less hurried.

Calgary rises from the prairie with open skies overhead and the Rocky Mountains visible to the west. The Bow and Elbow Rivers curve through the city, creating pathways that soften the downtown skyline. Glass towers reflect big-sky light, while Western heritage continues to shape the city’s character.

Edmonton stretches along the North Saskatchewan River, where a vast green valley cuts through the city and opens toward expansive prairie skies. Bridges span the river below, and tree-lined trails follow its curves through every season.
