A Splendid Stay

To celebrate my wife's birthday, we stayed at Chateau Montebello. The room was spacious and well furnished. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The on site amenities were outstanding and we so appreciated the beautiful natural surroundings and took several long walks on the grounds around the hotel. An exceptional experience.

My room was not cleaned properly (still had material from the previous guest in the closet), and it was in poor repair (ceiling leaked over one of the beds at night). Food also left to be desired, considering reputation.

Idyllic location.

The staff was very professional, friendly and made the stay very enjoyable. The location was lovely and the lobby amazing. I will be back. My only problem was prior to arriving when I was looking for information on how to get from the airport to the hotel. After three calls and no information, I rented a car.

Staff was excellent. Food was great. The grounds were beautiful. The downside was our room being near the loading dock for the restaurant. This was quite noisy and woke us early (~6-7am) when part of the appeal of this get away was having the chance to relax and sleep in.

Nice return visit - first time with a few disapointments

overall good visit , we have been to your resort many times before and always would say we were 100% satisfied, this time wishing to offer you some feedback. Loud live singer in the main lobby instead of soft instrumental music would have been more enjoyable! We had a lot of difficulty relaxing and hearing each other speak due to the loudness of it, also not very classy for such a classy resort which it intended for guests to go and relax. Also since the resort was very busy ( which we had no problem with whatsoever) there was a longer wait to get cocktails from the bar - not a problem at all! however due to the delay we asked the young lady at the front desk of the chantignol restaurant if we could move our dinner reservation from 7 pm to 7:30 pm and with attitude she quickly said NO! we quickly went to our room to change and immediately went back down to the restaurant , out of curiousity we did ask another staff member at the restaurant if our request could have been done and we were told YES it should not have been a problem at all! just pointing out that it is the very first time we have experience a staff member being border line rude with attitude!!! we had always only experienced perfectly polite and fantastic staff at all of our previous visits! quick comment on the rooms, we were very happy with room 339 and really hope that the management chooses to keep the warm rustic decor and not change it to modern look as done on other rooms, the only thing that should be fixed a little bit is the rug, Keep the old rustic, warm charm that the Chateau has!!! thank you
