Salon Couture High-Tea at The Savoy with Suzie Turner

Publish Date: 13-Jul-2016

The Savoy Wednesday, July 13, 2016

Christian Dior showed his second collection in autumn 1947 at The Savoy, a show received with such acclaim that the Queen requested a separate private viewing the following morning for members of the Royal Family, including her daughters, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret. Archive footage from this show and other salons of the time has inspired the choreography of the Suzie Turner shows, with models being taught to walk in the fashion of classic salon models.

Showcasing stunning couture gowns, the show will present 10 to 12 looks from Suzie Turner’s eagerly awaited collection, such as a dress with forty thousand hand-sewn emerald Nagoire flat feathers, and a gown made with twenty-seven thousand Swarovski crystals. Pairing high fashion with high tea, guests at the salon will enjoy a welcome cocktail accompanied by a selection of delectable sandwiches, cakes, scones and bespoke éclairs, decorated with intricate sketches of Suzie Turner designs.

Couturier Suzie Turner has been a gifted and highly skilled creator of timeless, luxurious clothing since 1990. Utilising the finest in British craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, Suzie Turner ensures a truly special couture experience.  Every element of design and production is completed in-house in their London Atelier to create bespoke gowns that bring her clients’ dream dresses to life.

With the magnificent glass-domed atrium at the heart of The Savoy, the Thames Foyer is an enchanting space that radiates natural light and sociable warmth; the perfect setting for this exciting new addition to any fashion-lover’s calendar.

Salon Couture High-tea is priced at £58 and includes a welcome cocktail created by American Bar Head Bartender Erik Lorincz. Taking place the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30pm.
