For a true local's perspective on Whistler's best destinations and activities, join our daily outings led by Fairmont's Whistler Experience Guide.Let our team be your hosts for mountain adventures, biking, paddle boarding, brewery tours and more 'off-the-tourist' track activities that capture the true essence of Whistler.

Guided excursions are included for all registered Fairmont Chateau Whistler hotel guests.  

Suitable for all experience levels.  
Activities vary day to day.  
Typically 3 - 6 options per day are available.  
Daily activities are confirmed 48-72 hours in advance.   

Current outings and complete details are available in the Hotel Lobby, in the Health Club, in your Daily Hotel Newsletter and are always available for in-house guests by dialing '0' for Royal Service.   

Summer Whistler Experience Guide are subject to change and may be weather dependent. Pre-registration at the Concierge Desk is required for most activities and is available up to 48 hours in advance. Guests will be responsible for the cost of any rentals, admission fees and lift tickets

 

SUMMER WHISTLER EXPERIENCE GUIDE ACTIVITIES   

Bike Ride | 2 - 2.5 hrs (Families welcome)
Discover Whistler’s natural playground! Join us for a casual ride along Whistlers’ Valley Trail to some of Whistler’s beautiful parks and lakes. Moderate fitness level required. Bike rentals are $15/hr – Adults, $10/hr – Kids.

Watersports
Rise and shine with a tranquil, sunrise paddleboard at Lost Lake, or explore the views on Whistler's glacier-fed Green Lake by canoe (limited space available). Enjoy a refreshing dip, if you dare!

Sunrise Paddle Boarding | 2 hrs (Lost Lake) 
Green Lake Paddle | 2.5 hrs

Mountain Sightseeing Tours | 3.5 hrs (Whistler Blackcomb)
Join our Whistler Experience Guides on a tour of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain. Spend your morning taking in the jaw dropping views as you journey across the famous Peak 2 Peak Gondola and experience Whistler Blackcomb's Cloudraker Suspension Bridge.

Pemberton Excursion | 6 hrs
Located just 20 minutes north of Whistler, spend you day exploring the beautiful town of Pemberton. Our first stop will be Nairn Falls - a short 1.5 km hike to a picturesque waterfall where you can take photos and breathe in the fresh mountain air. We will continue on to One Mile Lake for a quick dip or nature hike around the beautiful lake trail, followed by a trip to beautiful North Arm Farm where you can taste fresh organic vegetables pick your own berries!

Hiking | 1.5 - 2.5 hrs
From family-friendly strolls to trails to the Whistler Train Wreck, a variety of hikes will be offered throughout the summer season. Destinations include:

Train Wreck (2.5 hrs) | Moderate | Families welcome 
Lost Lake Loop (1.5 hrs) | All levels | Families welcome 
Lost Lake Hike (2 hrs) | Intermediate | Families welcome 
Lost Lake Trail Run (1.5 hrs) | Active  
Rainbow Falls Hike (1.5 hrs) Intermediate

 

Rooftop Bee Tours
Our rooftop garden and terrace is home to four beehive and a one of a kind bee hotel, specifically designed to attract solitary pollinator bees. These “sweet” new initiatives are part of the Fairmont’s Green Partnership program, helping the local environment by providing bees to pollinate area gardens and parks. These particular bees have produced a clear, delicate wildflower honey that our Chefs are using for culinary and cocktail creations.

Rain or shine, there is always plenty to explore in Whistler. Whether it’s learning something new or visiting one of our favourite Whistler attractions, you can expect to have a fun filled day! Activities will include:

Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (1 hour) | Families welcome

Enjoy a 1.5 hour hike to the naturally stunning Rainbow Falls. Suitable for intermediate hikers.

WHISTLER EXPERIENCE GUIDE DOG    
Alta is a black Labrador, and arguably the most popular team member of Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Her days are spent exploring scenic trails with our Whistler Experience Guides and adventure-seeking guests. During her down time Alta can be found roaming The Chateau, greeting guests and colleagues alike.

Follow the captivating aromas of BBQ, freshly baked bread, rich coffee and mouth-watering treats to Portobello! It's a locals' favourite cafe in Whistler's Upper Village.
