In basements and closets throughout New England there are a number of pieces of Copley Plaza memorabilia that have become personal treasures and wonderful memories for those who have collected them over the years. Our historic Boston hotel collected these 'treasures' and displayed the memorabilia as part of its hotel history tours.
For guests who wanted to become part of the celebration, The Fairmont Copley Plaza offered two unique Centennial Celebration packages: The Celebration of a Century Package was perfect for the visiting history buff, with a private hotel tour and history booklet. We also celebrated our storied reputation as the lavish backdrop for countless Boston weddings and honeymoons by offering the special Anniversary Package to guests with their original folio.
Ever wondered how Peacock Alley got its name? Or why that Double-P logo can be found on so many of the hotel's doorknobs and archways? During our Centennial celebration, guests were able to learn all about our hotel's rich history through weekly, guided tours. (Please note, guided History Tours are no longer offered).
Beloved Canine Ambassador Catie Copley hosted a special Centennial Birthday Party on Sunday, September 16 here at the hotel. Children had the opportunity to meet some of Franklin Park Zoo’s animals (including Snuffles the Porcupine), enjoy birthday cake, storytelling, prizes and much more! Both Franklin Park Zoo and the Fairmont Copley Plaza celebrated their 100th anniversaries in 2012.
