White Water Rafting
With so many great rivers at our disposal, white water rafting has emerged as one of the most popular activities for visitors in Jasper. Jasper’s Class II and Class III white water on the Athabasca and Sunwapta Rivers has an adventure to satisfy everyone; for those who want a fun family activity to those who want a more thrill-seeking adventure. Not only does rafting enable you to view the magnificent scenery of the Park from a whole new perspective, it is also a great venue for family occasions, parties, and celebrations. Summer Activities - On Land
Experience Jasper National Park’s newest attraction; the Glacier Skywalk. Take the world renowned drive down the Icefields parkway to the Glacier Skywalk. This awe-inspiring adventure showcases the natural beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The fully-accessible cliff edge walkway leads to a glass floored observation platform that’s 280 meters (918 ft!) above the Sunwapta Valley. You will experience beautiful views of the rocky mountains, Sunwapta Valley, rushing waterfalls and an abundance of wildlife. The Jasper Skywalk and Glacier Adventure Sno-Coach are sure to make long lasting memories of the incredible landscape we stand within.
Outdoor Activity Centre
Feel like staying at the resort? We've got many fun activities right here - Stargazing, volleyball, soccer, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and even "Giant Jenga" are available for complimentary guest usage. Tennis courts are also on property, and racquet rentals are available.

Stargazing - October through March
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge invites you to discover the wonders of Jasper's pristine night sky every Saturday night from 8:00 – 9:30pm. A guided astronomy session in our indoor planetarium followed by outdoor viewing at our boathouse. Learn about constellations and gaze into the universe through our high-powered telescope (weather permitting). You may even experience the magical Northern Lights! $20/adult, $10/child or $50/family of four. Includes hot chocolate to keep you warm! Sign up is required by 4:00pm at the concierge desk.

A variety of trail rides are offered just steps from your room through Jasper Park Stables Hourly, half day and full day excursions are available.
There are hundreds of trails to choose from in Jasper, no matter what your skill level. Rentals are available. Tandem bikes and cruisers are also available, as are kids' bikes and stroller attachments. A great way to spend the day with your family!
Ice Explorer Tour
Journey down the Icefields Parkway, rated one of the Top 10 Most Scenic Drive in the World, and explore the Columbia glacier by bus. A must do!
Summer Activities - By Air
Icefield Helicopter Tours
An amazing way to see Jasper National Park. Trips to the Columbia Icefields and Mount Robson as well as heli hiking, heli yoga, and even heli weddings are available.
The Jasper Tramway is a seven minute ride to the top of Whistler's Mountain, with a restaurant, gift shop, and some of the best views in the Rockies awaiting you.
Onsite Winter Activities
Skating on Lake Mildred
Skate around the 1.2km loop, or play hockey on one of the two groomed rinks. Rentals are available.
We have a perfect sledding hill for the little ones to use right in front of The Lodge. Toboggan rentals are free for kids!
Our Natural Treasures family program is designed to get the kids outside to explore the great outdoors in the summer and winter alike. This innovative scavenger hunt uses clues and GPS technology to help you find hidden heiroglyphs around the property. Cost is $20 per family - contact the Recreation Department.

Skiing & Snowboarding
Discover the new high speed chair, great terrain, and wide open spaces at Marmot Basin! The ski hill is only 20 minutes from The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, and daily shuttles are available.
Mike Wiegele Heli-Skiing
Travel by helicopter into the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains and experience the challenge of steep trees, the thrill of a glacier descent or the more relaxed pace of our gentler slopes as you explore more than 1,200,000 acres of back country ski terrain.
Cross Country Skiing
The perfect activity if downhill skiing isn’t your thing, or if you just want a change of pace. Over 300 kilometers of trails make Jasper one of the largest cross-country ski areas in Canada. Please stop by the concierge desk to pick up a trail map or for an update on trail conditions.
High Country Helicopter Tours

Maligne Canyon Ice Walk
Explore a frozen wonderland on this guided tour through Maligne Canyon. Ice climbing is also available.
