Culinary Events & Masterclasses

During 2013, The Savoy will hold a series of culinary events and masterclasses.  The events will offer unique opportunities for guests to dine on specially created menus matched with wines and champagnes from some of the finest vineyards in the world.  The masterclasses will be taught by some of The Savoy’s talented bartenders and chefs.  Guests will have the chance to learn some of the culinary skills, expert tips and recipes which have given The Savoy its reputation as one of the finest places to drink and dine in London.

Dinner Dance

A Savoy tradition makes a welcome return. Cut a rug under the stunning glass cupola in the Thames Foyer with a 3-course dinner, enjoy a 4-piece-band led by the fabulous Holly Penfield and a dance floor will encourage dancing until midnight.

7:30pm – Cocktail reception, Dinner at 8pm and entertainment starts at 8:30pm, £85 per person

 Evenings of Cabaret & Burlesque at The Savoy   

Over 80 years after they first started at The Savoy, Cabaret Evenings return to the Beaufort Bar. Hosted by the inimitable Holly Penfield and Dusty Limits, the line up changes each month and includes some of the hottest names from the London cabaret scene.

Doors open at 7pm – show starts at 7:30pm, £25 per person

Cocktail Masterclass

The masterclass will be hosted a senior bartender from the American or Beaufort Bars. The class is must for those who enjoy classic or new, innovative cocktails.  The event includes lessons in how to make 4 cocktails, learning about the history of some of the main spirits and the influence The Savoy had on the cocktail world.  The class finishes with a three course meal in one of The Savoy’s restaurants.

12 noon – 2pm, £105 per person


Saturday, February 9
 - Classic Cocktails from the Movies.  Learn how to make a selection of some of the film's classic cocktails from Casablanca’s infamous French 75 to Tom Cruise's Red Eye , featured in the hit movie, Cocktail.

Saturday, May 11- Royal Cocktails.  In honour of the 60th anniversary of HM The Queen's coronation, we celebrate by teaching guests to make some "royal cocktails" including the American Bar's very own Blushing Monarch inspired by Princess Diana  and the Royal Tribute, which was created in honour of the Royal Wedding in 2011. 

Saturday, September 14 - London Fashion Week Cocktails.  A class inspired by the great and good of the fashion world.  This class will teach you how to make Champagne cocktails and also keep you up to date on the latest cocktail trends.

Monday, October 7- Monday 14th October - London Cocktail Week – The Savoy will be a hub of activity in both the American Bar and the Beaufort Bar during a week that celebrates the capital's cocktail scene.

Saturday, November 9 - James Bond Cocktail Masterclass.  Our bartenders will teach you to make the infamous spy's favourite cocktails from the Vesper and the classic gin Martini to Erik Lorincz's own creation, the Skyfall, which was served at the premiere of the latest Bond movie.

The Art of Cheese with Tom Badcock

Cheese expert Tom Badcock talking you through a delicious and informative tasting of British and French cheeses, he will guide you through wonderful pairings of great dishes and cheeses. Participants will also get to take home our Savoy Apron and indulge in a 3 course lunch menu that is based on cheese. The masterclass concludes with lunch in one of The Savoy’s restaurants.

Spend two hours with one of our Pastry Chef where there will teach you the preparation of Chocolates with recipes for the home chef! Participants will also get to take away a Savoy Apron and indulge in our 3 course menu in one of The Savoy's restaurants.

Cooking Game in The Savoy kitchen
The Savoy will be hosting its first cooking master class in Game, you will be shown to prepare and cook Venison, Partridge and Rabbit all exquisite components for any dish coming into the festive season, then sit back and enjoy a wonderful 3 course lunch eating the Chefs choice of Game. All participants will be provided with the recipes and a Savoy Apron to take home to remember the occasion. There lunch will be at 12:30pm in one of The Savoy's restaurants.

Our award winning pastry chefs will be on hand to prepare and demonstrate some beautiful elegant festive pastries to inspire and delight you for the holiday season.   A 3 course Festive lunch will follow in one of The Savoy's restaurants and participants will go home with the recipes from the day and a Savoy Apron as a parting gift.

Dom Perignon Dinner

Richard Bampfield, Master of Wine and wine connoisseur extraordinaire, will be hosting the dinner on behalf of Dom Perignon and will introduce each champagne accompanying the specially created 4-course meal.

All patrons will receive a glass of Dom Perignon on arrival in the Beaufort Bar, from where they will move through to a private dining room. A specially created 4-course menu, paired with 4 different champagnes from the Maison Moet et Chandon including vintage, rose and Dom Perignon expressions, depending on suitability, will be served.

From 7:30pm, £250 per person
