2-3 Hour Itineraries

Visit Legendary Jack London’s Home
Jack London wrote some of the greatest stories ever written about the wild outdoors, and he called Sonoma his home during his late years. It was on his 1,500-acre ranch, that he wrote most of his later stories and novels. The ranch has since been donated to the State of California and has become the Jack London State Historic Park. Bike, hike or horseback ride through the park and see the bathhouse, dam and lake built by the author. Be sure not to miss the museum dedicated to London, which houses “The House of Happy Walls.” The original silo, barns, stables and “pig’s place” are still standing. This enchanting park is located at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen, a 10-15 minute drive from the resort.

A Stroll In The Plaza
Located just a few minutes drive from the resort downtown Sonoma offers glimpses into American small-town life. Visitors can stroll the historical Plaza, sit at a sidewalk café, shop trendy boutiques, or laze in the park taking in the “Sonoma vibe”. The last Mexican governor of California, and features large shade trees, a Carnegie Library-turned-visitor center, two playgrounds and a duck pond was laid out on the eight-acre square. The Plaza is the site of several celebrations and specials each year, including the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival, held annually in September.

Life’s a Picnic
In room dining services will be pleased to pack a Wine Country inspired picnic basket –then hit the road for Quarryhill Botanical Gardens. Just moments from the resort Quarryhill houses one of the largest collections of scientifically documented wild source temperate Asian plants in North America. The garden is open for self-guided tours Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The tremendous wealth and variety of plants in the garden provides year-round interest and beauty. The impressive grounds, which include picnic areas and shaded manicured lawns, guarantee an eco-friendly educational experience.
