As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, we have thoughtfully eliminated single-use plastics from the resort, including bottled water. In your guest room, you’ll find a glass carafe for your convenience, and throughout the resort, water stations offering chilled, filtered water on demand. We invite you to join us in this effort by traveling with a reusable water bottle, supporting our shared dedication to preserving the natural beauty that surrounds us.

• Our Housekeeping team is committed to helping conserve water and monitor our water usage. Linens are changed every third day unless requested by the guest. 
• Our Geothermal Pools are naturally heated by an ancient mineral hot spring that flows beneath the resort, allowing us to naturally heat our resort pools year-round.

Fairmont Sonoma is committed to purchasing local, organic, Fair Trade and sustainable food products wherever possible, including utilizing organic or biodynamic wines, local purveyors and on-site herb gardens. Some of our other initiatives include:

• Herb Garden / Colleague Educational Garden on Property
• Use of certified fresh & sustainably-sourced seafood
• Purchase locally made, biodynamic wines
• Organic eggs, butter used throughout the resort
• On-property beehives, providing honey used in our restaurants as well as allowing bees to pollinate our gardens.

Our resort gardens not only supply fresh, natural ingredients for our restaurant dishes, but they also play a vital role in sustaining local wildlife. By growing many of our own herbs, we reduce our reliance on outside sources, ensuring the highest quality in every meal. These gardens are also a haven for pollinators like hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, allowing these local species to thrive.

We believe our role as caretakers for our local ecosystems is vital. Our guests and colleagues work and play in locations we strive to protect for future generations.

We also support our colleagues’ growth through development and education. The Fairmont Sonoma Educational Scholarship Fund supports team members and their families in pursuing high school or college education, and/or participate in extracurricular activities that assist the pursuit of further education. With less transportation required, we minimize pollution and contribute to a cleaner environment. In support of Sonoma’s Silver-level recognition from the national Charging Smart program, Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa offers electric vehicle charging for guests as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship.
