From the moment we booked our celebratory break with our friends to the Fairmont , it was clear the staff were amazing . When we arrived , we were not disappointed - we were welcomed with such warmth and loved our beachfront suites and direct access to the beach . Unfortunately our trip was flawed , because there were some renovations going on , which we were not made aware of , a lot of noise from the work and no beach restaurant / nice bar area made available to us . Only an eyesore of an area covered in plastic sheeting . If it wasn’t for the Lonestar and Ju’s Ju’s we would have been stuck for places to dine at lunchtime which did affect our stay .
Loved my room and the crisp clean sheets. Excellent and abundant bath amenities. Special appreciation for my person butler, Dawn. Shout out to Ryan on the hobie cat/paddle board who showed me the most fun and amazing morning and, most importantly, the driver Roger Thompson. We went on an island tour and he really heard me when I told him the types of things that I was interested in seeing. The perfect guy. Trustworthy, reliable, engaging. Totally Professional.

staff brilliant hotel apart from room is terrible
The Fairmont Royal Pavilion is one of our favourite hotels so it was a big disappointment to see that it was not up to its historical best. Not being informed that the Tabors restaurant and bar were closed is unacceptable. The rebuilding work was disruptive, noisy and messy. Work starting at 07.00 annoying but I suppose it was necessary to get the work completed for future guests. Substituting the Terrace restaurant nearly worked - evenings were good, breakfast OK but lunch a disaster. The breakfast issue was staff - there seemed to be plenty of people but training was poor - no milk, no butter, butter pots empty, tea and coffee often did late to arrive and had to be chased.. The computer seating system was obviously in introductory phase and que busting was often non existent. Our room had a leak which was reported to our Butler, a maintenance man did arrive next day and we arranged for him to return next day whilst were were at breakfast but he diid not return. The leak was not a big issue until the later part of our holiday when it rained significantly. We again reported the leak at checkout. Fortunately the Fairmont staff saved the holiday - Dawn our Butler was 1st class, the team leader on the beach beds was excellent, the reception team were excellent. We had a late return flight to the UK and the team found us a hospitality room the complete day - many thanks for this. Food was also good and well presented. Jean Christophe, the Fairmont is a great hotel which we have used many times, but this visit was below standards of a 5 star hotel and poor value on this visit.

The room we stayed in smelled of mildew. It's was a ocean front suite that we paid alot for. The ac dripping the whole stay. The restaurant, you couldn't keep the flies away. And Hot. The property overall was a 3 at most star. Was not happy.
1) no hot water at 4.30 am on check out day. So couldn’t shower before a flight. Unacceptable. 2) no TV for 2 days. Was told no TV as it was an island wide problem. Wrong. Friends at the Hilton had TV. 3) one evening when short of time for formal dinner, I couldn’t enter the room. Lock didn’t work. Technician eventually came and replaced the lock battery. Unacceptable. Lock batteries on all rooms should be routinely replaced before they run out. 4) no fridge in the room. Unacceptable.

We loved the hotel and our beachfront suite. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Good suite but poorly managed resort. Not a 5 star experience. Noisy building work, and service from staff slow. An underwhelming experience..

Lovely room and view. Building work in progress which completed ruined our experience. Footpaths dug up and at one stage sewage being pumped out. The environment was noisy, smelly and the whole resort feels tired and in need of a serious upgrade. The hotel should have closed for the current renovations to the restaurant and bar. Hotel staff while friendly are not properly trained resulting in either slow or nonexistent service. Not a 5 star resort.
