    Keiki (children), ʻōpio (teens), and mākua (parents) ages 8 and older are invited to discover the traditional Hawaiian game of checkers, gaining insight into how it was played by the Hawaiians of old. This engaging activity highlights the skill, strategy, and cultural significance behind a pastime that has been enjoyed for generations.

  • SUNSET TORCH LIGHTING CEREMONY

    Experience a cherished Hawaiian tradition as our torch lighter illuminates the resort grounds at sunset. The ceremony begins in the lobby, announced by the sounding of a conch shell, before proceeding through the property with stops along the way. The evening concludes at the grand staircase near the koi pond with an oli (chant) and a photo opportunity for guests.
