A Visionary Urban Oasis

Built in 1995, our expansive rooftop garden was the first green roof in Vancouver, a visionary initiative for the time. Today, it thrives with organic herbs, vegetables, and an apiary, reflecting our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Fit for a Queen

In 2002, Fairmont Waterfront proudly hosted Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during her Golden Jubilee visit to Vancouver. A special moment came when the Queen graciously took the time to pat Morgan, our beloved hotel dog, adding warmth to this historic occasion.

Pioneers of Rooftop Bees & Urban Green

Established in 2008, Fairmont Waterfront’s rooftop apiary was the first of its kind at a hotel, housing honey bees and supporting indigenous pollinators. This sustainable initiative continues to thrive, producing honey used in our dishes and fostering biodiversity.

Proudly Embracing the Olympic Spirit
