Definitely need a housekeeping supervisor to ensure that rooms are deep cleaned after each guest. The lack of detail with dusting the air vents, cleaning/dusting/disinfecting the commonly touched areas was very shocking for the prices. Even after the manager came to our room to ensure it was cleaned, it was not done to my satisfaction. The place made me feel filthy and unclean. Just to know that there was probably a lot of filth that was also unseen. You can definitely tell that new management (General manager, Housekeeping Manager, and Concierge) is needed and the staff needs to be retrained with their focus being customer satisfaction in all aspects of the guest's stay. The food was not good at all. Our birthday weekend would have been better if we stayed at a no frills 3 star hotel because at least we would not have such high expectations. The best part of our stay was my spa experience. It was top notch! Also, we appreciate the hotel accommodating our travel schedule by allowing us early check in and check out. This allowed us to save money and time that would have been used on a rental car and reduced time we had to spend carrying our bags around and waiting at the airport.
The hotel and suite were not up to what we have had in the past. Restaurant / Bar not open till 4:30 could not get anything upon arrival. Restaurant / Bar understaffed once it did open Room- Kurig coffee did not work - Fridge was warm - no coffee cups or coffee pods - no glasses Suite was not acceptable given the rate we paid.
I stayed for two nights with my wife for her birthday. Staff was great especially the valet service and those who opened the door for us. They always greeted me and my wife with a smile and recognized my vehicle. Only downfall was the restaurant bar staff seemed overwhelmed when a large party came in. They did not have my order and I paid my tab on the honor system. I was disappointed at the bar services enthusiasm but over all had a great time. I will come back.
Where to begin…. There was no one to clean the room and for 2 days we had to beg for towels. When we arrived room wasn’t that clean to begin with and a used coffee cup was left on the table. My understanding is you are grossly understaffed and it showed. At over 500 a night we expected more. Plus we paid for 2 rooms.
The room was spacious, clean and beautiful. Staff was extremely professional and friendly. Went way above and beyond.
The hotel is well located if you are headed to a sporting or music event. The front desk and door staff are engaging and helpful. The restaurant (FL 2) is good. The rooms were a bit underwhelming. While they were well maintained, the rooms seemed a bit dated. I thought it was odd that there was no door to the toilet area in the bathroom. I was staying with a friend and it meant that only one of us could use the bathroom at a time. Seems like a poor design choice.
I really did enjoy my experience at the Fairmont Pittsburgh, it was my first time at this hotel and definitely will come back to it. The only reason I didn't give a 10 score is because I was surprised on my second day, when I returned to my room from work and realized the bed was not done/fixed (which is not a big deal really), but the room was not cleaned neither, the trash from the food I brought with me when I arrived the night before was still there, thankfully I put everything in a bag so it wouldn't smell or dirty up the furniture.
