To stay in Montreal is to soak up the vitality and complexity of a metropolis capable of anything. Here, avant-garde ideas and technological innovations coexist with the oldest architecture in North America and the stories it tells when one takes the time to appreciate it. The hotel stands above the Central Train Station in the very heart of downtown. Just a few minutes walk south, the old stone streets of the iconic Old Montreal District are trodden by those who come to enjoy its stores, its popular restaurants or its relaxation areas near the wharves jutting out into the St. Laurent. A little further north-east, the Plateau Mont-Royal district enchants tourists and locals alike, who meet in its niche restaurants and bars. In winter, it’s many parks are popular for ice skating, sledding and cross-country skiing. In the summer, it's musical gatherings and festive cookouts that keep the wide-open spaces buzzing.

Got a complimentary upgrade to Fairmont Gold and that made my stay even better. I enjoyed working in the lounge while not having to leave for a quick bite

Status dropped from Silver to Classic! I have bin staying at the Fairmont and recommending my stays for years. Also, extremely slow check in. People with questions need to referred to concierge. Will be looking elsewhere next time.
Room was small but quiet. Hotel is well located, connected to train station, and downtown easily accessible.
I had a wonderful stay however our room was too hot even with the thermostat off
The hotel is located centrally close to many attractions and amenities. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.

My daughter and I had a good time both shopping and looking at Carlton College for a master's program. The hotel was fantastic!
We stayed for two nights on March 13-14 at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth. I had an important business meeting at 1pm on the day we were checking out. The day before I went and asked if there was somewhere quiet I would be able to take the call. The front desk person said they would extend our checkout to 3pm. The next day at 1pm our access to internet was locked out when I tried to enter my room number. I went down to ask the front desk how we could remedy the situation. The front desk person said there was nothing on file about our late checkout and that I wouldn't not have been given that option as the hotel was busy that day. I did not appreciate basically being told I misunderstood or was being untruthful. In any event, our room was extended but caused a lot of stress because I was late for the meeting due to the lack of access to internet. When we checked out I explained what happened and was told again that there were no notes so I must be wrong. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was sorry but nothing could be done. We had paid for the extra $20 for the view for the two nights and for parking and I thought the appropriate customer service response could have been to discount one of those fees for the inconvience and stress.
We booked reservation through Accor-Live Limitless and received confirmation notices as expected. On the day or arrival, we received an email for pre-arrival check-in, which asked about our arrival time. We were (literally) on track for an on-time arrival by Via Rail (Canadian railroad) at 10:55 a.m. Since the Montreal train station is literally beneath the hotel, we knew we would arrive well before expected check-in time, but sent back information about our early arrival. While waiting in the train station for our luggage, I received a follow-up email that our room was ready!!! This was approximately 11L30 a.m. When we arrived at the hotel check-in desk (approximately noon), we were immediately checked in and made our way to a very nice room. The rest of our stay was perfect (it really is a great hotel) - but our lasting memory will be the amazing extent to which the hotel went so far above expected performance to accommodate our unusual/early arrival time. Thank you, thank you!

all positive except that the bathtub plug did not work - so no bath
I am extremely disappointed to write this review as my family and I were genuinely looking forward to our stay at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth. However, our experience was far from the luxurious getaway we expected. I feel it's important to share our unfortunate experience to give potential guests an honest view of what they might encounter. First, the noise issue was unbearable. It seemed like there was a constant barrage of loud music and chatter coming from the hallway and adjacent rooms, making it nearly impossible for us to get a decent night's sleep. It was especially frustrating for our children, who had trouble falling asleep and were consequently cranky throughout the day. The shower in our room was another major disappointment. It took a considerable amount of time for the water to heat up, and once it did, the water pressure was so weak that it was impossible to take a proper shower. This was frustrating, considering we had just spent the day sightseeing and wanted to freshen up. The amenities at the hotel were also quite underwhelming. For instance, the swimming pool was overcrowded, making it uncomfortable for us to relax or enjoy some family time. The gym had outdated equipment, which was not only disappointing but also potentially hazardous. Furthermore, the in-room entertainment options were limited, and the Wi-Fi was extremely slow, making it difficult for us to stay connected and plan our activities in the city. The service at the hotel was equally disappointing. The staff seemed uninterested in addressing our concerns, and we felt like we were an inconvenience whenever we asked for help. This lack of attention to customer service was the cherry on top of an already frustrating experience. In conclusion, our stay at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth was far from the memorable and luxurious experience we had anticipated. The noise issues, malfunctioning shower, underwhelming amenities, and poor customer service left us feeling extremely dissatisfied. I would not recommend this hotel to families or anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay.
