Events & Happenings

Our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony opens the holidays with a tree standing on the water. Santa makes his grand entrance on the beach and finds a different way to arrive each year. Holiday feasts bring the classics together with the flavors of Mexico and the tables stay full long after the plates are cleared. On January 6 the Three Wise Men arrive and close the holidays the way Mexico always has with family and tradition.

  • Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

    The night the lights come on.

     

    Our Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony marks the opening of the holidays here. The evening begins on the terrace at Tauro and then moves down to the canal where our tree stands on the water. At the appointed moment the lights come on and the reflection carries them across the surface.

  • Santa's Arrival

    He never arrives the same way twice.

     

    Each December, families gather along the sand at Fairmont Mayakoba, eyes fixed on the horizon, waiting for the moment Santa appears. He has come by sea. He has come by sky. The sleigh stays parked at the North Pole, and his entrance remains the season's best-kept secret. Only one thing is certain: this year, no one will see it coming.
