For the amount it costs to stay at a Fairmont hotel, I am generally underwhelmed with the experience. The staff were all very nice and helpful and the room was nice. However, the sounds from outside of the room - from the elevators, the street and neighbouring rooms - were quite noticeable and kept waking me up while I was trying to go to sleep. I strongly dislike the use of electronic monitoring of mini bar use because it prevents you from even picking up and looking at the available items. Even though these systems are used by many major hotels, I find them to be tacky and out of sync with the elegant feel of a Fairmont hotel. I was disappointed by the food and beverage selection at the lounge. I found the food options to be indistinguishable from other comparable lounges around the town and the selection was rather boring. I would have liked to see more than a single option for non-alcoholic beer (corona), as most establishments have multiple, high-quality options. Overall, I was disappointed with my stay and I would choose somewhere else for my next visit.
Everything was great about our stay in Vancouver. However, there was a vent in our room that was on all the time. It never shut down whether the heat / a/c was turned up or down. The check in and out was very good.

While the room looked nice, a reading light did not work, a bedside lamp did not work and the shower leaked. I also found the front desk staff to be somewhat lacking in caring about their job. I have stayed in many Fairmont hotels and will never stay at this location again. Hanging their hats on the hotel history and needs attention to details
Our stay was great from the front desk to the very helpful concierge service. Friendly and relaxed environment.

Best hotel stay in my life, and I had a job with 90% travel for 6 years.
My family really enjoyed the Fairmont Vancouver- the rooms were very well decorated, but you could still see the history of the building. The beds were very comfortable, with nice firm pillows! We loved seeing the canine ambassadors. Your fitness center was top notch (and the most crowded I have ever seen a hotel gym). The food was delicious, and my husband's aunt (80!) was really touched by the Happy Birthday treat in her room. One thing that would've been cool though- an outside hot tub. Those are always a treat!
Overall the rooms and hotel itself was quite nice; the concern i had was the mattresses in my room were not comfortable for what i would expect from hotel of this stature. the bathroom shower head wand was loose so flopped over - this resulted in maids or prior client wedging it behind the shower pipe so when i turned on the water it sprayed into the rest of the bathroom; there was also a long hair in my bathtub - i have short hair - so was either from cleaning service or prior tenant
Nice Clean quiet room. Met expectation and in a great location.
