When it comes to celebrity status and the most photographed colleagues at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, there’s no doubt that this honour belongs to a pair of tail wagging personalities with loads of charm. Meet the dog friendly hotel’s Canine Ambassadors – Mavis and Beau.

Mavis holds court in our hotel lobby with her Prince of a companion, Beau. Both dogs are Yellow Labrador Golden Retrievers and are BC Guide Dog trainees who found their first calling in the hospitality industry. Eight year old Mavis and five year old squeeze, Beau are on duty next to the concierge desk to meet and greet, shake a paw or take a walk with our guests.

In addition to their Guest Relations role, Mavis and Beau have been instrumental on the culinary side with the creation of the hotel’s Pet Menu. After several tastings, the two gourmet hounds selected mouthwatering treats such as Organic Venison and Cranberry Pepperoni (made with organic venison and juicy cranberries), Organic Beef Granola Bars (protein-rich snacks made with certified organic extra lean beef, whole oats, eggs, fresh veggies and apples) and Turkey & Spinach “Paw-Stickers” (made with all-natural ingredients like hormone-free turkey breast and fresh spinach). The pet friendly hotel didn’t forget feline friends with offerings such as Succulent Salmon Stew for Cats (a hearty stew made with salmon and veggies like zucchini, pumpkin and carrots) and Wild Salmon Jerky (a high protein snack chock full of omega-3’s and local BC flavour).

Guests are welcome to bring their own pets to The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The price is $25 CAD/per day and the animal must not be left unattended in the room. Seeing-Eye dogs are always welcome and exempt of charges.
