In response to the growing threat to bees, Manoir Richelieu has installed beehives in the Chef’s gardens. In partnership with Hydromel Charlevoix, this initiative supports the environment and raises awareness through an educational trail, teaching guests about bees and the biodiversity of the Charlevoix region.

We actively collaborate with local partners, including MRC Charlevoix, to ensure responsible waste management. Organic waste is composted by Compost Pro Charlevoix, recyclables are processed at the local Eco Centre, and used cooking oils are recovered by SaniMax and transformed into biogas.
In our kitchens, smart Orbisk bins help reduce food waste through precise tracking and informed sourcing decisions.
A comprehensive water conservation program is being implemented, including the installation of low-flow toilets and showerheads, automatic flushing systems in public restrooms, and motion-sensor faucets throughout the property.
Our entire golf course is irrigated exclusively with collected rainwater, reinforcing our commitment to responsible water management.
To better understand and reduce our environmental impact, we partner with Klimato to measure the carbon footprint of our dishes, empowering both our teams and guests to make more sustainable choices.
Across our golf courses, the planting of diverse tree species supports natural carbon absorption, while rainwater irrigation helps reduce resource consumption.
As part of our commitment to lowering greenhouse gas emissions, the hotel has installed electric vehicle charging stations and, in partnership with Tesla, will soon offer a total of 80 charging points across the Manoir site. We have also introduced our first electric snowmobiles in collaboration with NordExpé.
