The Fairmont Hairpin, legendary since 1929
Formerly known as the Virage de la Gare, the Fairmont Hairpin is one of the most iconic spots on the Monaco Grand Prix circuit. For nearly a century, this legendary turn on the world’s most prestigious street circuit has been the setting for some of Formula 1’s greatest moments.
From Graham Hill and Ayrton Senna to Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher, and Lewis Hamilton, the greatest champions have made their mark here. Located at the base of Fairmont Monte Carlo, it remains today one of the most recognizable and iconic symbols of motorsports in the Principality.
A look at three legendary races
From the Monaco Historic Grand Prix to the Monaco E-Prix, and the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Fairmont Monte Carlo offers a unique perspective on the Principality’s most iconic motorsports events.
In 2027, the Monaco E-Prix will take place on May 15 and 16, followed by the Formula 1 Grand Prix from June 4 to 6. Every two years, the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique celebrates the legacy of motorsports; the next edition will take place from April 24 to 26, 2028, bringing legendary cars and single-seaters back to life on the Principality’s iconic track. Overlooking the legendary Fairmont Hairpin, the hotel offers a unique immersion in the heart of the circuit throughout the season.
The Art of Monegasque Evenings
When the checkered flag drops, Fairmont Monte Carlo becomes one of the epicenters of Monaco’s social scene. The experience continues at Nikki Beach, with Nobu’s fine dining, and in the elegant atmosphere of Amù, where the excitement of the Grand Prix carries on late into the night.
During the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco, the pop-up club Lilly’s also takes over the hotel, hosting international artists and DJs—including Travis Scott or Rampa—for some of the most sought-after parties in the Principality.
