The Surprising, Joyous Journey of Food Composting
Using a state-of-the-art DYRT system, which eliminates off-site transportation and can process up to 60,000 pounds of food waste per month, we eliminate landfill and the resulting methane emissions, plus carbon emissions equivalent to taking 250 cars off the road. DYRT's valuable real-time data helps us monitor our hotel's entire waste stream.

Since 2023, Fairmont Miramar is proudly single-use plastic free in guest experience. We’ve swapped plastic water bottles for reusable options, straws made from avocado, wooden key cards, and eco-friendly utensils.
