Water Conservation

Fairmont Grand Del Mar is committed to water conservation and preserving this precious resource. Simple actions like reducing water waste, using efficient fixtures, and mindful consumption make a big impact. By protecting and conserving water, we help ensure its availability for future generations and the environment.

 

The Golf Course irrigation system uses reclaimed water, which is treated and repurposed to water the land. Additionally, wireless sensors installed at each hole monitor moisture and salinity levels, ensuring water is used only when necessary. For more details, visit www.getgroundworx.com.

 

We’ve replaced 2,500 sprinklers with a product that reduces water consumption. Fairmont Grand Del Mar has also upgraded guest room shower heads, saving 2.85 million gallons of water annually.

Reducing the San Diego and Southern California Landfill

The agronomy team recycles green waste, and a chipper processes fallen trees into mulch, reducing landfill waste by over 500 cubic yards annually. By eliminating single use plastic throughout the resort, a water filtration system in guest rooms saves 268,000 plastic bottles, while large-format bath amenities eliminate 135,000 small bottles each year.
