1906

In 1906, Swiss pioneers Alexandre Emery and Ami Chessex unveiled Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, a Belle Époque marvel by architect Eugène Jost, completed in a remarkable 18 months.

Golden Age

1936

The Montreux Convention is signed at the hotel on July 20th. The treaty, which still governs access to the Black Sea as an important piece of international law.

During the war

During both World War I and World War II, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace transformed into a sanctuary, serving as a hospital for wounded Allied soldiers.
