Valley of the Handing Waterfalls - 1700S

The Native American Utw Trive were the first to inhabit the Telluride Valley.  During the summer months, they made their camps along the San Miguel River and hunted deer, elk and mountain sheep high in the mountains.

Telluride's White Gold - 1970s

A small group of Telluride locals put Telluride back on the map with the promise of another kind of gold, White Gold - also known as snow.  Their vision included a year-round destination with a world-class ski resort and resort villa.e

Present Day

Today, Telluride's population is half of what it was during the mining heyday.  Miners have been replaced with skiers and festivarians but the rich history of Telluride remains intact.
