Unforgettable Musical Moments with Montreux Jazz Festival

From January 29 to March 7, Fairmont brings you two next-generation talents on a World Tour.

Fairmont World Tour

For more than 50 years, the Montreux Jazz Festival has welcomed the world’s biggest names in music to its stages every summer, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans to the Swiss city that shares its name.

And for the second time, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is proud to partner with the Montreux Jazz Festival to present an exclusive artist showcase. Through the newly expanded Fairmont World Tour, a panel of judges have selected two talents out of the many emerging artists from around the world who have performed at the festival.

We’re proud to announce our World Tour winners: Bobby Bazini and  Jalen N’Gonda!

Fairmont is bringing these next-generation talents to the communities we call home. Bobby Bazini will make stops in Middle East, Marrakech and Europe, while Jalen N’Gonda will perform in the United States as well as at the first Fairmont hotel in South America, Fairmont Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana.

Bobby Bazini: Six Strings of Soul and Country

A native of Quebec, Canada, 27-year-old Bobby Bazini honed his guitar chops by playing along to his grandmother’s old Stax and Motown records, with a healthy dose of classic country. After releasing three critically acclaimed albums in Canada, Bazini followed his musical muses through Nashville to Los Angeles and ultimately London, where he completed his latest record, Move Away. Bazini’s blend of weary but warm vocals and dusty, groove-driven guitar electrified audiences at Montreux in 2019, and now, his smooth sounds are headed across Middle East, Marrakech and Europe.

Jalen N’Gonda: Golden Voice, Timeless Arrangements

Jalen N’Gonda, the 2018 winner of the Fairmont European Tour Award, joins us for a second year with dates in the US and Brazil. Raised in Maryland and schooled in Liverpool, the singer and pianist filters his jazz training through the prism of pop – specifically, the sounds of Motown and Liverpool’s most famous sons, The Beatles. Already a crowd favorite at Montreux and around the UK, N’Gonda is set to bring his golden voice back across the Atlantic.
