RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Ranked as one of America’s best cities to visit by U.S. News & World Report, Money, Kiplinger and Forbes, Austin is considered to be the jewel of Texas. Ideally nestled in the vivid Hill Country, Austin offers an abundance of outdoor activities including walking, biking, canoeing, paddle boarding, boating and sailing in Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin, Lake Travis and Lake Walter E. Long.

LIVE MUSIC
Revered as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” Austin is home to more than 250 live music venues from coffeehouses to clubs to concert halls. Music, in its many forms, fills the airport, street corners and even a few grocery stores in this dulcet city. International festivals like South by Southwest and Austin City Limits garner global attention, while other lesser-known events are creating a buzz within the music industry.

ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICTS
Austin’s bustling Downtown is a fusion of commerce, restaurants and retail along with a thriving art scene where galleries and museums abound. Rainey Street Historic District, residing two blocks from Fairmont Austin in downtown’s southeast corner, is a one-of-a-kind find for cocktail aficionados and food truck foodies. East Austin is the fastest growing district, offering a myriad of dining and shopping choices set against the serene backdrop of Lady Bird Lake. Red River Cultural District is a music-lovers paradise, where more than 20 bands play nightly within three blocks in this nightclub heavy neighborhood. In the city’s urban core, Sixth Street plays host to music and film festivals, bars, eateries and entertainment venues. South Congress is nationally noted for its food trucks, boutiques, music and art venues and striking view of the State Capitol.

SHOPPING
Retail destinations run the gamut from brick and mortar stores to bungalows transformed into go-local boutiques. Where South Congress features an array of antiques, galleries, boutiques and restaurants, the beloved Second Street District is comprised of chic consignment shops and coffee houses. From outlet shopping in San Marcos to the Arboretum Market to the upscale national brands and independent designers at the Domain, Austin has every price point for every shopping pursuit.
