There are plenty of outdoor things to do in the winter besides hitting the slopes. With fresh powder on the mountains and valleys, you can enjoy everything from snowshoeing to snowmobiling. SNOWSHOEING

Marble Canyon Tour - Operated by Discover Banff Tours
This afternoon excursion will lead you to Marble Canyon, an area rich in history and beauty in Kootenay National Park. Snowshoes, poles and refreshments provided.

Departs at 1:30pm daily (November 16 -April 15) 4 hours in duration. Adults $74.00, Children $42.00

Paint Pots Tour - Operated by Discover Banff Tours
The Paint Pots is a great introduction to snowshoeing that provides insight into the fur trade and its impact on Western Canada. Along the way hear stories of Banff's indigenous people and fur traders who travelled through the Rockies.

Departs at 8:30am Saturday and Sunday ( December 9- April 15), 4 hours in duration. Adults $74.00, Children $42.00

Lake Louise Winterland Tour - Operated by White Mountain Adventures 
The snow is always deep, soft and plentiful at Lake Louise. Enjoy an afternoon tour to Marble Canyon and Lake Louise with ample time on your own to partake in some truly Canadian winter experiences.

Daily from (December 16 to April 15), departs at 10:00am. Tour length 7 hours. Adults 96.00, Children $47.00

Sunshine Village Operated by White Mountain Adventures 

This excursion includes a professional hiking guide, transportation from the hotel, Gondola and chairlift , snowshoes and hot chocolate and light snacks. This excursion is available with advance reservations and departs from the hotel.

Fortress Mountain, Kananaskis Country - Operated by White Mountain Adventures

 This excursion includes transportation up and down from Fortress Mountain Access Road, snowshoeing guide, snowshoes, trekking poles, hot chocolate and light snacks. Available with advance reservations and departs from the Fortress Mountain Access Road. Transportation from the hotel is not included.

SNOW TUBING

Snow Tubing - Operated by Norquay Banff
Ride the slopes in a tube! Ever soared down a snow-covered hill with the wind rushing through your hair and looked down to see an inflated tube? If not, you should try it. Whether you've never touched skis or a snowboard, or just want to try something different,  snow tubing is a great way down the hill for all ages. Our snow park has a magic carpet and large sliding lanes to go down along with your group of friends or your family. Our new tube park also has a small sliding area and a kid's play area. It is a unique way to enjoy the slopes, and another reason to call Norquay home this winter. Children must be a minimum of 4 years of age or at least 42" tall.

SNOWMOBILING

Banff Snowmobile Tours - Operated by Awesome All Season Adventures
Departs at 7:30am or 10:30am. Returns at 3:30pm or 6:30pm. Rates include snack, transportation and equipment. Prices do not include taxes or insurance.

Toby Creek Adventures  
Visit the remnants of an early 1900's silver mining town located on top of a mountain at 8000 ft. With plenty of wildlife, an ice fall, open powder bowl and a hearty lunch in our cozy cabin makes this the Premier Tour of the west.

White 'N" Wild Tours
Shuttle for half day departs at the same time as full day trip, at 8:30am. There is a 1.5 hour wait for the return shuttle as guests must wait for the full day trip to finish or, you can meet on-site at teh McLaren Lodge in Golden, B.C. Advance reservations required. Please note that you must have a valid driver's license to operate a snowmobile.

Half day (Approx. 2.5 hours on the trail, snack included), Full day ( Approx. 8 hours on the trail, lunch included). Transportation provided for the morning. For half day tour there is a 1.5-2hr wait for return shuttle.
