Claremont Hotel Club & Spa Exploring our Surrounding Hills

Exploring the Berkeley/Oakland Hills

Take advantage of our gorgeous setting and get outside and enjoy the fresh air.

HAVE A PLAY-DAY IN TILDEN PARK

Tilden Park's 2,079 acres encompass hills, lakes, an 18-hole golf course and much more. With its re-creations of native plant communities throughout California, the Botanical Garden is home to redwood forests, seacoast bluffs and many of the state's endangered plants. The young and young at heart enjoy the park's merry-go-round, Little Farm and steam train, while nearly 40 miles of trails delight hikers and bikers of all skill levels.

GO FOR A RUN

Guests can experience scenic California through RunGo, a performance application that allows runners to discover verified trails with turn-by-turn voice directions. Each route serves as a virtual guided tour from the hotel – providing a convenient pathway to experience local sites, seasonal wild flowers, and stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge through national trails. Runners also have the option to create custom routes and groups for shared experiences.

TAKE A HIKE

With its commanding hills rising high above the Bay, Berkeley's picturesque hikes reward your exertion with tremendous views of the entire area. Several trails lead out from Tilden Regional Park and Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve stretches out from behind the Claremont Hotel, while Indian Rock Park offers both hiking and rock climbing.
