Skating on Lake Mildred
When you stay at The Lodge you don’t have to go far to enjoy a beautiful day in Jasper National Park. The groomed skating area on Lake Mildred is maintained daily by our team. Skate rentals available at the Winter Activity Centre.

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing
As snowfall permits, groomed cross country ski trails are set on our golf course and Lake Mildred each year, both featuring incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Or, snowshoe through the woods on marked trails towards Lake Annette. You may even see some wildlife! Cross country ski and snowshoe rentals are available at the Winter Activity Centre.

Fat Tire Biking
Enjoy one of Canada’s fastest growing winter sports, Fat Tire Biking. Riding along the marked trail towards Lake Annette, returning by way of Trefoil Lake, this is a great way to see the different forests and mountains along the way. Or, head into town on a well marked trail that will take you past Old Fort Point. Bike rentals are available at the Winter Activity Centre/

Toboggan Park
Grab a toboggan, tube or sled, and go! Our groomed hill is perfect for family fun. Rentals available at the Winter Activity Centre.

Ski Marmot Basin
Marmot Ski Basin is Jasper's ski hill with more than 1,675 acres of skiable terrain. Marmot offers skiing for everyone from the earliest beginner to the most demanding expert. Along with 86 named trails, uncrowded groomed slopes, superb facilities, there is lots and lots of that white stuff that makes skiing at Marmot so great. The ski hill is 20 minutes from Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Maligne Canyon Ice Walk
Venture into the frozen bottom of Maligne Canyon where you'll see frozen waterfalls, caves and other ice formations. For your safety, a tour with a professional guide is highly recommended.

Helicopter Tours
See the Canadian Rockies the way they were meant to be seen. Once you’ve made it all the way here and have felt the glory of the Rocky Mountains from the ground, but now you have to see them from the sky. Viewing these majestic mountain ranges from 10,000 feet can't be beat!

Wildlife Tours
Travel by motor coach through spectacular Jasper National Park in search of ospreys, eagles, big horn sheep, mountain goats, wolves, coyotes, foxes, moose, elk and deer! Routes vary based on seasonal changes and the best places to spot animals.

Stargazing & Astronomy Tours
Join the Jasper Planetarium at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge for an interactive tour of the largest, most powerful telescope in the Rockies and a look at the latest 4K ‘instant-replays’ of live views seen through telescopes in Jasper, including views of the Whirlpool Galaxy ‘eating’ a smaller galaxy. You’ll also look at how to photograph the Northern Lights and Milky Way with your DSLR camera and enjoy an interactive science area where you can make an aurora and get up close with meteorites, a moon and a mars rock.
