GUESTS CAN DROP BY THE JETSIDE BAR FOR A QUICK LESSON ON BEER, WINE AND WHISKY PRE OR POST FLIGHT

School is back in session at the award-winning Fairmont Vancouver Airport with flights of beer, wine and whisky - accompanied by cheater's notes - at the Jetside Bar.

"Our "flight school" started with beer and it was so popular it's been expanded to include wine and whisky," explained Ronald Cruz, food and beverage manager at the hotel. "Many of our guests are visiting from around the world and interested in sampling a local beer or wine so it's a great way to introduce them to what BC has to offer."

The beer flights feature Whistler Brewing, Stanley Park Brewing, Steamworks Brewery and Driftwood Brewery, and include four - four ounce glasses for $16.

For the wine flights, guests can opt for any four - three ounce selections from the "by the glass" wines for $35, while the whisky trio from Scotland features Talisker 10, Cragganmore 12, Glenkinchie 12, Oban 14, Dalwhinnie 15, and Lagavulin 16 with three 3/4 ounce pours for $55. All flights are served with tasting notes that provide background and flavour profiles.

And speaking of flights, guests in the know get an A+ for checking in and getting their boarding pass at the kiosk located in the hotel lobby.
