Spent nearly a week at Fairmont Georgetown over Thanksgiving to work and visit family - as always, great experience with this hotel, my go-to hotel in Washington
It was good! Service was good. I hope hotel had a better restaurant

Our family loved our stay
The room was very clean and roomy, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very friendly
Stayed here for a family trip with my brothers and sisters to celebrate my 60th birthday. As I said, the hotel is beautiful! There were a few big issues we had. First, there was a wedding at the hotel, which is fine and nice to see! The issue is they closed the restaurant for breakfast (breakfast was included in the price we paid for room). We were forced to eat the the lobby. The service was TERRIBLE. It was slow and one of the servers was very grumpy! There was a networking event that evening, so the outside area was closed. Good for them and the hotel, bad for us.... That evening we had drinks at the bar. Again, the service was sooo slow! We ordered drinks, but they took so L. we didn't want them anymore. By the time we received, we were ready for bed. That's just a waste. I can't blame the service. The food and beverage leadership need to do a MUCH better job! Food, drinks and service was terrible - especially for such a beautiful hotel....
Friendly and accessible concierge and front desk. Comfortable rooms and great location with many dining options walking distance. What I didn't like as much: sheets felt rough, $20 for on demand movies when we're already in a luxury hotel, no slippers, no strollers, the pool and hot tub were in a windowless gym. I much preferred the Chateau Frontenac spa/pool experience! I didn't try the bar or the food, but it didn't look to be particularly happening.
Until about 2 years ago, I held the highest Accor status. We started staying at a neighboring property due to a few dissatisfaction issues with the Fairmont. In my profile, due to being a very light sleeper, I prefer an interior room. On this latest visist, we were given an exterior room that faced M street, a very busy, noisy road. We were there on the bed and breakfast arrangement. The first morning, the restaurant was closed and breakfast service was in the lobby. We sat, a server came by, provided coffee and said he would be back with menus. He never returned, but oddly, newly seated people all around us were given menus by the same server. After a significant amount of time, and due to time limitations, I went to the front desk and ask for a credit for breakfast. After a big of haggling, it was agreed to credit our room $50.00, but this should have never happened. The next morning, we were able to have breakfast in the restaurant, but the buffet was very whittled down from what it used to be. Lastly, there was one elevator where the door only partially opened on our floor. It wouldn't respond to any button options. Eventually, the door closed and went up another floor. This happened both times we were in that elevator. These things are not what we would expect from a supposedly higher level hotel. While I'm glad we were able to give the Fairmont another try, we will most likely seek other options for our frequent stays in DC.
My husband and I stayed after we attended an event in the hotel. The event was held in the beautiful garden, and everything was fantastic. Our accommodations were perfect for a luxurious snd relaxing splurge. We hope to visit again soon.

Attended a conference in the hotel.
Fairmont concierge and colleagues were very helpful my few extra requests for trail run map in the area and directions to some local amenities/shops.
