The personal touch this hotel offers is the best in the world. The friendly staff know your name as soon as you arrive & they go out of their way to make your holiday special. The gardens are beautifully maintained. The two restaurants offer excellent meals & good wine list. The beach is clean & so close to the hotel, the pool area is a good alternative. The Manager is excellent & always available to talk to. The hotel is in good decorative state but would benefit from the bathrooms being updated , with large walk in shower rather than bath & separate shower. The Palm Terrace restaurant could be a first class restaurant with a good interior design refit & well trained staff & more imaginative menu. The position overlooking the sea & vaulted ceilings & colonial windows are stunning. The restaurant is let down by the bar & furniture, all easily rectified with the right interior designer. The Watersports staff offer hobie cat rides & paddle board instruction. We had fun swimming to the platform on the sea & meeting other guests there. Great to meet management & guests at the weekly Manager’s cocktail party too. We have been holidaying at the Royal Pavillion for over 20 years and look forward to returning every time. They cater well for couples & families.

Terrible bed! Had back ache the entire stay. When we checked in no directions or information of facilities was offered. Didn't know you had a gym and hours of restaurants. Bedroom lighting is limited. some mold at threshold of shower. Took three requests to complete a small administrative detail. Front desk was never able to send an email!
A great place for a holiday
For our first visit to Barbados, and to the FRP, the overall experience was excellent, and FRP was exactly the kind of place we were looking for - quieter crowd, not the "party" type, and everything as advertised. Room for improvement: given that this is 5-star hotel, and with the prices to match, I do believe that some capex could be put into refreshing things - cushions on furniture in the main lobby and in our room were a bit old, with small stains (they could be fully re-upholstered). The trash can in the bathroom had chipped paint - a fairly small expense to repaint it. The vanity desk below the TV was worn and greyed from use/age - again, I would think not a big expense to get it to a sparkling white again? The pool area could use some maintenance - again, don't think much of an expense to give it that "brand new" look. It is of a decent length, so would be of interest to those who do lap swimming for their exercise (ocean swimming is more for fun), and having worn or chipped tiles, dirt/leaves in the pool, etc., is ok for a 3-star hotel, but not a 5-star. The breakfast (included with our room/package) was great, and nice to have the option of the buffet or a la carte. The private car pickup and drop-off (with Mr. Goodman) was excellent, as was the expedited immigration help - esp given that it was our first time visiting Barbados.

Excellent service, food, accommodation. Staff extremely professional and helpful. We had a perfect stay, hope to return soon!
We had a lovely time but a few areas need to be improved 1/ completely re construct the beach bar it is very disappointing a total let down 2/ areas Like the reception area need to be modernized 3- our Xmas lunch was a little disappointing not enough entertainment food at buffet average and no crackers or hats - you would not have known it was Xmas day 4/ service at times too slow but overall good 5/ found a lot of the times the management of restaurants quite disorganized didn’t know what was happening re entertainment we asked quite a lot what was going on certain days and nobody knew
Good experience and very good staff support . Helped with cars and restaurant bookings.
